Paulino Auto Glass repairs rock chips and short cracks at our Bronx shop on West Mount Eden Avenue, usually in about 30 minutes while you wait. We clean out the break, inject clear resin under pressure, and cure it so the spot is stronger and far less visible. Catching damage early often saves you the cost of a full windshield.

Bronx roads are hard on windshields. A truck kicks up a stone on the Cross Bronx, a pothole jolt turns a nick into a line, and suddenly you've got a chip staring back at you. The good news is that a fresh, contained chip is one of the easiest things to fix. When you bring it in early, before dirt and moisture settle into the break, resin flows in cleanly and bonds the glass back together from the inside.
The repair is quick and doesn't leave your car tied up. We drill or clean the damaged spot, draw out the air, force resin into every crevice, and cure it hard with UV light before polishing the surface flush. What's left is a much fainter mark and a windshield that won't keep splitting across your view. It won't look brand new, but it stops the spread and keeps the factory seal intact — which matters more than most people realize.

Every glass job we do carries a lifetime workmanship warranty — leaks, wind noise or trim issues from our install are fixed free for as long as you own the vehicle.
A repair costs a fraction of a replacement and takes a fraction of the time, so we'll always tell you when a chip can be saved rather than pushing you toward new glass you don't need. That kind of straight dealing is why neighbors keep sending people our way. Come by early, and there's a good chance you'll drive off in half an hour with the problem handled.

We clean the break, inject and UV-cure optical resin under vacuum, then polish the surface flush.
The spread stops, strength returns, and the repair blends in — most are barely visible when done.

As a rough guide, chips up to about the size of a quarter and cracks up to roughly three inches are good candidates. Beyond that, or when the damage reaches the edge of the glass or sits in the driver's direct view, repair usually isn't the safe choice. Bring it by and we'll measure it and give you an honest read.
Usually not entirely. Resin restores the strength and stops the crack from running, but a faint mark often stays where the break was, especially in bright light. Most people find it barely noticeable once we're done. If the damage is right in your eyeline and would leave a distracting blemish, we'll talk about replacement instead.
The sooner the better. A chip that's clean today can crawl into a long crack overnight, especially with Bronx temperature swings and rough pavement. Once it spreads past repairable size, you're looking at a full windshield instead of a quick fix. If you can, stop by within a day or two of the damage happening.
Often it does, and many comprehensive policies waive the deductible on repairs because fixing a chip is cheaper than replacing the whole windshield later. Even without insurance, a repair is one of the more affordable fixes we do. Bring your policy info if you have it, and we'll help you sort out what's covered before we start.
