Parkway and Thruway miles do most of it. The Saw Mill and the Thruway are fast roads with heavy truck traffic and a lot of seasonal patching, and stone lifted off a repaired lane at that speed chips glass. Central Park Avenue contributes the low-speed version, with constant turning in and out of shopping lots, tight rows, and doors swung into neighbouring windows.
